ABOUT US

We believe that your child's healthcare should be affordable and accessible.  We believe that the true art of practicing medicine can be restored by removing barriers and stressors imposed by traditional fee-for-service insurance models in order to simplify and re-establish the physician and patient/family relationship through a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model.  Our transparent fee structure ensures you have a clear understanding of the costs involved, allowing you to make informed decisions about your child’s healthcare. It is our hope to help re-establish overall trust in the medical community.

ABOUT DR. STRANGE

Dr. Kristin Strange

Pediatrician

DSC_4422_edited.jpg

Dr. Strange has been in pediatric practice for 25+ years mostly in Union County where she calls home.  Her love of pediatric medicine and helping kids, along with their families, grow from “cradle to college” has been a great joy in her life.  She is now inspired by the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model of medical practice to get back to the intended basics of healthcare, to promote overall health in finding root causes for disease and fostering relationships directly between the patient (and families) and their doctor as well as other health care providers.  This can again be achieved by removing the sometimes interfering corporate business and ‘busy-ness’ model of medicine that has evolved over the last several decades.

She received her undergraduate degree in biological studies at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) and her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine (Go Gamecocks!!).  She completed her pediatric residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte in 1997 and then started her pediatric practice career in Monroe, NC. She has served different areas of Union County throughout her career. She is looking forward to continuing her practice journey in Lake Park, NC near Indian Trail at her own small business, Thrive Pediatrics and Wellness.

When she is not working, Dr. Strange loves spending time with her family: husband Brian (the source of all things Strange in her life) and their children: Bennett (his wife McKayla), Audrey and Coleman all of whom are now Thriving adults.

Dr. Strange and her husband are members of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail.   She also is active in serving in the Union County community as Medical Director of HELP Crisis Pregnancy Center, Board of Directors for Cameron's House of Hope in Indian Trail, and Ex-Officio Board Member at Community Shelter of Union County.

DR. SPENCER

New Profile Picture-Seth Spencer.jpg

Dr. Spencer, a board certified pediatrician, is thrilled to be joining the team at Thrive Pediatrics and Wellness! Having experienced cancer as a teenager, Dr. Spencer knows firsthand what it’s like to be a patient, which has driven his passion for pediatrics and helping the healing process of children and families through difficult times. Dr. Spencer is excited about the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model, as an opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships with patients and families and to focus on their overall well-being without the distractions of the traditional healthcare model.

Originally from Colorado, Dr. Spencer completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Brigham Young University. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where he met his wife, Abby. (Virginia is for Lovers!) Dr. Spencer completed pediatric residency training at the Children's Hospital of Richmond and began practicing pediatrics out west.

Outside of work, Dr. Spencer loves spending time with his family, including his wife Abby, their two young daughters Maisie and Elsie, and their two golden retrievers. They are active in attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They enjoy attending community events, playing games, LEGOs, exploring the outdoors, and discovering life together as a family. They are excited to be a part of the community in Union County and to be closer to their families that live in North Carolina and Virginia.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; I am making a way in the wilderness.
